Data residency

Everything you create, send and get signed in E-Signing.io is processed and stored in data centres inside the European Union.

Active region

European Union · Frankfurt am Main (eu-central-1)

Database, file storage and backups stay inside this region. There is no routine transfer to third countries.

Database and file storage in Frankfurt am Main. Backups remain in the same region.

Encryption

TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest. Signature images and attachments live in access-restricted buckets.

Tenant isolation

Every workspace is isolated at database level through row-level security. No access across workspace boundaries.

Retention

You decide how long data lives. After account deletion content is removed immediately; backups roll out within 30 days.

Evidence

Signed PDFs are sealed with an RFC-3161 timestamp. Only the SHA-256 hash leaves the platform, never the content.

Selectable file regions

Files can be stored per workspace in Frankfurt, London, New York, Los Angeles, Singapore, Sydney, São Paulo or Johannesburg. At no extra cost.

Can I choose the country myself?

Yes, for files. Under Settings → Workspace → Data location you choose the region where uploaded documents, images and attachments are stored (8 regions, no extra cost). Database, audit trail and timestamps stay in the EU (Frankfurt) for compliance reasons. You can switch regions at any time. Existing files are migrated to the new region automatically (once every 24 hours).
